Inspiration
With focus on technology in fashion, I selected "doomed inventors", inventors that died while developing their own inventors, as my inspiration. Technology in this collection is presented within the garments as a hidden part enhancing designs, rather than creating a unwearable showpiece based on heavy stiff electronical parts.
Construction and shapes are taken directly from these doomed inventions. To create special effects were used magnets, electromagnets and magnetic pads in combinations with iron and magnetitie powder. Triggered by fall ( resembling fallen inventors ) and tilt switch, electromagnets turn off and release the iron powder, to create a structure on top of the jacket.
A dress incorporates Arduino Flora miniboard, that makes parts of the dress fall (electromagnet turns off when model turns).
Collection is meant for a boyish, nomadic woman, that is keen on technology and inventions and adding a personal touch to her garments.
